How to Apply
This checklist is for opening a securities account. It will guide you through the process to ensure that you have completed all the necessary steps.

1. Choose the product: Decide which product will help you to achieve your financial goals best: MarkeTrade.PRO, and MarkeTrade.BASIC.
2. Obtain forms: Click Download Forms and select the account you would like to open. Print a New Account Form and other forms necessary for account application or e-mail us to request an application package. You can also choose to fill out the forms on the computer and then print them out.
3. Fill out account Information: Each applicant must provide their information and sign the 2nd page of New Account Form. If you have more than 2 applicants, please click here to download extra New Account Form.
4. Sign all necessary forms: Sign on all signature lines. Your account application cannot be processed without your signatures. Please also provide us your ID copy.
5. Fund your account: You may fund your account by check, wire, stock certificate or account transfer from another brokerage:
  • Check: Please make a check payable to Penson Financial Services, Inc. We accept personal checks and cashier's checks drawn from a U.S bank. The amount must meet the minimum deposit requirement.

  • Certificate: Stock certificates must be endorsed exactly as they are registered on the face of each certificate and "Penson Financial Services, Inc." written on the line between "appoint" and "Attorney."
  • Transfer: An account transfer from another brokerage firm must be accompanied by a copy of your latest statement. Your name(s) and tax identification number(s) must match exactly with that at both brokerages.
6. Mail your application form including a copy of your photo ID along with your checks/securities to:
